Smart cameras equipped with loudspeakers and warning systems have begun to be installed in the cities of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The cameras will be combined into a single video surveillance system for the region. The press service of Rostelecom told URA.RU about this.
“Before Tarko-Sale, similar “talking” cameras were launched in two more cities of Yamal. In Noyabrsk, similar smart devices operate on the territory of the Noyabrsk Park near the amusement town and on the coastal area near the technical reservoir of the Combined-Gas Power Plant. In Nadym, near the memorial to fallen WWII soldiers,” the press service of the digital service provider said.
According to Rostelecom, the cameras have high image quality, are resistant to any weather conditions and shoot in any lighting conditions. Data from them will be fed into the unified video surveillance system of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and after that the information will be sent to operational services. “The specialized program responds to a number of different crisis situations: graffiti on objects, attempts to climb to dangerous heights, fights, crossing the coastline on the beach. Forty-three digital devices record only the video stream, twelve are equipped with voice modules that automatically turn on and warn those who violate the rules of conduct,” the company emphasized.
The street surveillance system will be expanded to almost all cities of Yamal. Large-scale work to develop video surveillance in the region is carried out annually. “For example, this fall new cameras were installed at the entrance and exit of the Gubkinsky railway station building,” the Rostelecom press service added.
Earlier, URA.RU reported about the connection of the Novy Urengoy airport to the Yamal video surveillance system. This system uses artificial intelligence in its work, which allows it to recognize faces.
