Residents of Germany have donated more than €800 million to Ukraine since February 24

Donations to Ukrainians from German residents through 11 organizations have grown by about €180 million since March 24. The total amount of funds collected since the start of the military operation amounted to €812 million, informs German Central Institute for Social Affairs (DZI). Nominally, this was the largest amount of donations collected in Germany since the end of World War II.

The 11 charities surveyed by DZI reported more than €10 million in donations in March. According to a new survey, donations to these organizations alone increased by about €180 million. “However, the amount of money and things given away every day (to Ukrainians— “b”) decreased,” said DZI Managing Director Burkhard Wilke.
