Regions will be reimbursed for the development of special economic zones

The Cabinet of Ministers has clarified the rules for selecting regions eligible for state support to reimburse the costs of creating infrastructure for special economic zones and technology parks. Such a government decree of May 6, 2022 No. 820 enters into force on May 15.

The document amends the procedure for selecting regions that will receive state support in the form of interbudgetary transfers to reimburse the costs of construction, modernization and reconstruction of infrastructure facilities of industrial parks, industrial technology parks, special economic zones (SEZs).

In particular, the resolution clarified that a resident of a special economic zone cannot have branches and representative offices outside it. It must carry out activities in the territory of the SEZ for no more than 15 years from the date of filing an application for selection and does not apply the simplified taxation system.
