Poachers shot 26 reindeer listed in the Red Book on Sakhalin

26 reindeer, listed in the Red Book of Russia, were killed in the northern part of Sakhalin, RIA Novosti reported on February 25.

“Forestry employees on February 24, during another raid to protect and protect wildlife, discovered the remains of 26 wild reindeer in a remote place in the Okhinsky district. The Investigative Committee began a pre-investigation check, the investigative team moved to the scene of the crime.

Currently, the number of reindeer on Sakhalin reaches 2,000 individuals.
