The group of cargo airlines Volga-Dnepr intends to lay off more than 200 employees of its subsidiaries AirBridgeCargo and Atran, who flew on Boeing aircraft. This is reported RBC citing sources close to the company.
According to the publication, the pilots received notices of reductions at the end of July. The group plans to keep a few crews in case it gets permission to return the planes to foreign leasing companies. AirBridgeCargo intends to return 14 out of 16 cargo Boeing 747s currently at Sheremetyevo.
“The company’s resources are not unlimited. Number optimization (staff.— “b”) – necessary measure. It is being carried out in stages in order to be able to mothball the fleet, ”said the interlocutor of RBC, who is a representative of Volga-Dnepr.
According to the source of the publication, the number of pilots in AirBridgeCargo at the beginning of the year was 300 people, in Atran – about 110. The company does not disclose the total number of employees.
In January-February 2022, Volga-Dnepr occupied half of the Russian air cargo transportation market, as evidenced by data Rosaviatsia. The cargo that AirBridgeCargo, Atran and Volga-Dnepr transported in total during this period amounted to 101.9 thousand tons.
