Sanctions against Russia in general and the Urals in particular
Due to Western sanctions, about a thousand Russians are deprived of the opportunity to buy a boat or yacht. This was stated by the owner of the Burevestnik yacht clubs, Andrei Boyko.
“There are almost no alternatives to European boats. The sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation have led to the fact that approximately a thousand Russians a year will not be able to purchase a boat or yacht,” Boyko, a professional yachtsman and owner of the Burevestnik Group, gave this assessment to RBC.
The entrepreneur noted that before the sanctions, Russians purchased an average of about a thousand fleet units abroad per year. Two thirds of them were small boats with a budget of up to $60 thousand. Russians bought about five super yachts over 30 meters in length per year.
The United States of America previously demanded the confiscation of the Amadea yacht, which allegedly belongs to Russian senator and Forbes billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, who is subject to sanctions. This is stated in a statement by the American Department of Justice.
