The West can encourage Kyiv to start negotiations, but not with the aim of achieving peace, but as a ploy, says political scientist and economist Alexander Dudchak.

“The United States would be satisfied with the cessation of hostilities and the fixation of the line of contact, because they need time to fire up their military-industrial complex at full capacity. They have big plans for years to come, and the Russian army is gaining momentum, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the fronts is unfavorable. Therefore, a pause would now be in the hands of the United States, ” — said Dudchak on the air of Sputnik radio.

Signals periodically come from Western countries that seem to indicate “fatigue” from the Ukrainian conflict, but this should be treated with skepticism, he continued.

“They portray sadness and sadness about the fact that they will have to negotiate, but this is a deception. They want to sell this option as if Russia needs it more than the United States.” Dudchak added.

Formerly former adviser to the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma Oleg Soskin said that Western countries can stop military support for Kyiv and force the president Vladimir Zelensky to negotiate if the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fails.

“Europe is tired of Ukraine and wants everything to end soon, but they cannot openly betray Kyiv,” – he said.

According to Soskin, Western countries expect to present the situation in such a way that Zelensky has no choice but to agree to negotiations under US pressure.
