A new controversy has arisen due to a tweet by Rakesh Tikait, the leader of the farmers’ movement against the three new agricultural laws. On Friday, Rakesh Tikait, in a tweet, sought help from US President Joe Biden and asked him to intervene in the repeal of three agricultural laws. Tagging Joe Biden, Rakesh Tikait wrote, ‘Dear Joe Biden, we Indian farmers are agitating against the three agricultural laws brought by the Modi government. During the agitation, 700 farmers have died in the last 11 months. These laws must be withdrawn to protect us. Also take care of our concerns during the meeting with PM Narendra Modi.

Since his tweet, #Biden_SpeakUp4Farmers is trending on Twitter. PM Narendra Modi is going to meet the leaders of the Quad countries on Friday itself. Apart from India and America, these countries also include Japan and Australia. The farmers are about to complete a year by agitating against the three agricultural laws. The movement had started in early October last year. Earlier this year, many foreign celebrities, including pop star Rihanna, Greta Thunberg and porn star Mia Khalifa, commented on these laws.

Then there was a controversy about why non-Indians are commenting on this issue. Not only this, Greta Thunberg was surrounded by sharing a toolkit in this matter. Not only this, during the investigation of the toolkit case, Delhi Police had also arrested many people. Now due to the appeal from the US President on behalf of Rakesh Tikait, a dispute may erupt.

In fact, he may be surrounded by the appeal of the head of another country to intervene in this matter. Regarding Rakesh Tikait’s tweet, United Kisan Morcha member Kavita Kuruganti said that getting international support is necessary for this movement to be strong at every level. I personally believe that there is nothing wrong with this.
