The deal between US President Joe Biden’s administration and Republican congressmen to raise the national debt ceiling will not affect Washington’s financial assistance to Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the Office of Management and Budget of the White House, Shalanda Young.
At a briefing, Shalanda Yang was asked if the agreement would affect the ability to allocate further financial assistance to Ukraine. “I don’t think so,” the head of the White House Office of Management and Budget replied.
On May 29, Joe Biden and Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy reached a final agreement to raise the national debt ceiling. The bill on the deal has already been published. The debt ceiling will be raised until 2025. Negotiations to raise the ceiling lasted several weeks.
