Putin spoke about plans to “de-bureaucratize” the law enforcement system

The work of law enforcement agencies in Russia needs to be improved, President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

According to the President, the most important thing now is not to hide from this necessity.

“We are going to de-bureaucratize the system, work on the law enforcement system… develop it. But in it, too, work is underway to clean up its ranks. We still need to polish the regulatory framework. This is what we will work on,” the head of state said.

Earlier it was reported that Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev instructed the relevant departments to start implementing the presidential decree on the creation of the Main Directorate for Rapid Response within the structure of the ministry. The department will, in particular, coordinate the maintenance of law and order in closed administrative-territorial formations and sensitive facilities, engage in mobilization training of the personnel of the department and civil defense activities.
