Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on charitable activities and volunteerism, which expands the rights of volunteers, providing for the introduction of a unified system of compensation for harm caused to their life and health. The document is published on the portal of legal information.
In accordance with the law, if during the performance of volunteer activities harm to life or health is caused to a volunteer, then he is paid compensation from the federal budget.
We are talking about the payment of compensation for such types of volunteer activities as participation in the elimination of emergency situations and their consequences, the prevention and extinguishing of fires, assistance to victims of natural disasters, environmental, industrial and other disasters, participation in the search for missing persons, assistance to those suffering diseases that pose a danger to others and others.
Compensation is paid in case of harm to the life and health of a volunteer, the data on which is entered into a unified information system in the field of volunteering development.
The law comes into force on January 1, 2023.
