Putin invited the Sultan of Oman to visit Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarek al Said, to come to Russia in 2024. The head of state voiced this proposal during a meeting with Crown Prince Ziyazin bin Haitham Al Said. The meeting was broadcast on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“We will be glad to see him in Russia at a time convenient for him, but next year. This year is already ending,” Putin noted. He also added that the Sultan of Oman stood at the origins of relations between the two countries.

The Crown Prince thanked Putin for the invitation. “I am grateful to my father for the invitation. I am sure that his visit will take place, I hope in the near future,” Al Said expressed hope. He added that he expects that the future meeting will open up new opportunities in the development of bilateral relations between states.

The last time the leaders of the two states spoke by telephone was in March 2023. The chapters discussed interaction in the trade and economic sphere, as well as in the field of transport and logistics.
