President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the Sultan of Oman Haytham bin Tarek Al Said. This was announced today, March 23, by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

During this first high-level bilateral contact since the establishment of diplomatic relations, a detailed review of the state and prospects for the development of Russian-Omani cooperation was carried out.

Particular attention was paid to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects, including in the transport and logistics sector.

The heads of state also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East region.

The President of Russia congratulated Haytham Al Said and the Omani people on the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
