Putin discussed with Balitsky the status of the volunteer battalion named after Sudoplatov

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye Region Yevgeny Balitsky. They discussed the issues of socio-economic development of the region, security, the agricultural industry, follows from messages Kremlin press office. It is reported that during the meeting Evgeny Balitsky raised the issue of the status of the Sudoplatov Volunteer Battalion. The press service does not provide details of the conversation.

The battalion was created in September 2022 by decree of Yevgeny Balitsky. According to Mr. Balitsky, the fighters of the Sudoplatov battalion guarded strategic facilities in the Zaporozhye region. He reported that volunteers from Sweden, Turkey and Serbia joined the battalion.
