The head of state in his address noted the heroism of the railway workers. Putin expressed the hope that the professionalism of the industry representatives will help achieve the goals set in the economy in the future.
“From the bottom of my heart I congratulate the workers and veterans of railway transport on their professional holiday, as well as on the significant date – the 185th anniversary of the opening of the Tsarskoye Selo railway. It was she who laid the foundation for large-scale railway construction in Russia”the president said.
Putin stressed that the railway industry is of great strategic importance for Russia, for the development of regions, the national economy and for the quality of life of people.
“Engineers, workers, people of various professions who created the Russian railway complex are not only brilliant professionals, but also real heroes. Indeed, the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and BAM, and other highways in the most difficult conditions, is a feat”the president pointed out.
Putin recalled that Russia currently faces large-scale tasks for the well-formed development of the entire infrastructure of the country, including the expansion and renewal of the railway network. The President emphasized that industry specialists, engineers, builders, machinists, dispatchers, conductors contribute to this great work.
