Pushkov disagrees with Beijing’s claim that Western rule is a thing of the past

Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the statement by Beijing, outraged by the attacks of the G7 leaders against China, that the era when the West ruled the world and controlled the fate of other peoples has irrevocably gone.

“The era may have gone, but the reflexes of the West have remained the same. Moreover, they only intensify as the liberal dictatorship is established in the West,” Pushkov said.

According to him, the fall of the Berlin Wall, which was greeted with enthusiasm in the West as a triumph of freedom, paradoxically opened the way to a new lack of freedom.

“Ever since the United States and Europe believed in the ‘end of history’, the liberal model and the ideology corresponding to it, with some variations, were, in fact, declared the only possible ones. And now it is being imposed on everyone – both inside the Western world and outside it, ”said the senator.

1989 – the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall – was indeed a milestone, but not as a triumph of freedom, but as the year of the birth of the liberal ideological dictatorship, Pushkov believes.

“Over the past 30+ years, it has taken shape as a coherent ideological doctrine and acquired visible features: extreme intolerance towards alternative points of view, a “culture of oblivion” for those who disagree, the dictates of minorities, the imposition of a transgender culture on people, etc.”, he noted.

In this sense

Outraged by the attacks of the G7 leaders against China, Beijing declared that the era when the West ruled the world and controlled the fate of other peoples was irrevocably a thing of the past. The era may have passed, but the reflexes of the West have remained the same. Moreover, they only intensify as the liberal dictatorship is established in the West.

The fall of the Berlin Wall, which was greeted with enthusiasm in the West as a triumph of freedom, paradoxically opened the way to a new lack of freedom. Ever since the United States and Europe believed in the “end of history”, the liberal model and its corresponding ideology, with some variations, were, in fact, declared the only possible ones. And now it is being imposed on everyone, both inside and outside the Western world.

1989 – the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall – was indeed a milestone, not as a triumph of freedom, but as the year of birth of the liberal ideological dictatorship. Over the past 30+ years, it has taken shape as a coherent ideological doctrine and has acquired visible features: extreme intolerance towards alternative points of view, a “culture of oblivion” for those who disagree, the dictates of minorities, the imposition of a transsexual culture on people, etc.

In this sense, Pushkov concluded, the fall of the Berlin Wall deprived Western societies themselves of their freedom, while at the same time a quasi-monopoly on power of the neoliberal elite was established, which happened, “of course, under the slogans of expanding freedom and democracy.”
