Prosecutor General Krasnov announced the withdrawal of five strategic enterprises from foreign control

By a court decision, five Russian strategic enterprises have been taken out of foreign control, and four more are awaiting their turn. This was stated by Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov at an expanded board of the Prosecutor General’s Office following the results of 2022 with the participation of President Vladimir Putin. Igor Krasnov did not indicate the names of the enterprises.

“I will especially note the results of the implementation of new powers to return lost property to the state. Judgments were made, and five strategic enterprises were taken out of foreign control, four more cases are under consideration,” the Prosecutor General said.

In January 2022, the Federal Antimonopoly Service proposed to withdraw shares from foreign investors who had acquired control of strategic enterprises in Russia in violation of the law, reported Forbes. In December last year, a draft law was submitted to the State Duma, tightening sanctions for the acquisition of shares in strategic enterprises by foreign investors without the approval of the relevant government commission.
