Producer Rodnyansky and director Vyrypaev arrested in absentia in cases of military fakes

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested the producer in absentia in April Alexander Rodnyansky (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) and director Ivan Vyrypaev. Criminal cases were initiated against them for spreading false information about the Russian army (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent) drew attention to the case cards.

According to the court, both meetings on the choice of a preventive measure were held on April 27. The next day Mr. Rodnyansky’s arrest was appealed. The decision against Mr. Vyrypaev came into force on 3 May. The Ministry of Internal Affairs put him on the federal wanted list, follows from the base of the ministry.

Alexander Rodnyansky has repeatedly spoken out against the Russian military operation in Ukraine. In October 2022, the Ministry of Justice declared him a foreign agent.
