During a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Burkina Faso Igor Martynov, Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla stated his country’s intention to join BRICS, according to a government statement.
“He also spoke in favor of Burkina Faso joining BRICS… to combat the dominance of the dollar and euro and achieve ‘more equitable international trade’,” the statement published on the Burkina Faso government’s Facebook page reads.
