Prigozhin: big business does not let employees of Kursk and Belgorod enterprises undergo military training

Businessman and creator of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin said that large entrepreneurs and state-owned companies in the Belgorod and Kursk regions do not give employees the vacation they need to undergo military training at the PMC. He asked to give the volunteer militias the opportunity to undergo special training, otherwise Mr. Prigozhin threatened to give “the names and surnames of the directors and other senior employees” of the mentioned companies.

The businessman’s statement was published in the Telegram channel “Prigozhin’s Cap”, which is maintained by the press service of his company Concord. According to the founder of the PMC, “many volunteer militias”, especially from the Belgorod and Kursk regions, undergo military training at the bases of the Wagner PMC. He argues that problems with the provision of short-term leave arise, as a rule, in state-owned companies “owned by large business players living far from the Kursk and Belgorod regions (as a rule, somewhere in Moscow, on Rublyovka).” With small and medium-sized businesses, he said, there are no such problems.

“Be kind, so that you don’t have to publish the names of your enterprises, the names and surnames of directors and other senior employees who prevent volunteer militias from getting leave for training, stop being outrageous and give them the opportunity to prepare for a possible attempt by the enemy to invade Russian territory,”— Yevgeny Prigogine said.

The businessman admitted his involvement in the creation of the Wagner PMC in September, although he had repeatedly denied this earlier. His PMC oversees the construction of engineering defense lines in the border areas in the Belgorod region. He also created militia training centers in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. In early November, he said that the militia should be financed by regional businesses and consist of residents of the region.

Mr. Prigozhin is included in the sanctions lists of the United States and the European Union. The American authorities also want to recognize Wagner PMC as a terrorist organization.
