State Department spokesman Ned Price will leave his post on March 17, he plans to work with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. Andrea Mitchell, a reporter for NBC.

“Ned Price, who has reinstated daily briefings and press access to the secretary of state’s travels, is leaving the podium later this month for a political position reporting directly to Secretary of State Blinken,” NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell tweeted.

According to the channel, Price is leaving from office March 17. His current deputy, Vedant Patel, will act as interim spokesperson. Correspondents praised Price for restoring daily press briefings, which were discontinued under former US President Donald Trump’s administration.

Price previously served as press secretary for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Council under the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. Price later became the department’s press secretary under incumbent US President Joe Biden. Correspondents praised the politician for restoring the daily press briefings, which were discontinued under the 45th US President, Donald Trump.
