Statements about the work of biolaboratories in Ukraine for the benefit of the Ukrainian people do not correspond to reality, these institutions are a danger to the whole world. This statement was made on June 18 by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“What was revealed as a result of the presence of specialists – our military – on this territory is a biological security risk for the whole world. This is absolutely obvious. Recent statements that all this was done allegedly for the benefit of the Ukrainian people are completely untrue, ”Popova said in an interview. “RIA News”.

Thus, Popova commented on the statement published by the Pentagon on June 9 about the support of biolaboratories, healthcare institutions and diagnostic centers in 46 countries, including Ukraine. In it, the US defense department stated that the interaction for 20 years with laboratories in Ukraine was allegedly carried out by the United States for peaceful purposes.

On June 12, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that Russia was demanding answers to specific questions about US military-biological activities in the post-Soviet space instead of “general answers.” In addition, Zakharova spoke about Moscow’s plans to request consultations with the states parties to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC).

On April 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that American scientists were testing potentially dangerous biological drugs on patients in a Kharkov psychiatric hospital between 2019 and 2021. In mid-March, the ministry released documents from 2015 confirming the Pentagon’s involvement in funding military biological projects in Ukraine.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow would insist on considering the situation with biological laboratories in Ukraine within the framework of the United Nations Security Council and the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons.
