Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Polyansky: Ukraine puts forward ridiculous conditions for negotiations with the Russian Federation
The Ukrainian authorities showed no readiness for serious negotiations on the settlement of the conflict. Their demands cannot be taken seriously.
Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, noted on the air of The Dive podcast that Ukraine does not demonstrate a responsible position on a possible peace dialogue.
“They have some demands that cannot be put on the table in serious negotiations. Therefore, we have not yet come to this, ”he explained.
The diplomat noted that the Ukrainian side only makes political statements about the theoretical readiness for negotiations with the Russian Federation.
“But they are ready to negotiate if Russia withdraws its troops, even from the Donbass and Crimea, which is simply ridiculous,” Polyansky said.
Russia, said the Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, does not yet have a realistic partner. Therefore, the country will continue a special military operation in Ukraine.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted that a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis should not be expected without negotiations between Russia and the United States.
