On May 17, the Federation Council hosted the X Parliamentary meetings dedicated to the issues of interaction between the Church and the state in the social protection of the population and the development of civil society institutions, the upbringing of children, spiritual and moral values and moral guidelines that have united people for many generations.

During the events, representatives of the Church shared their experience in providing patronage assistance, volunteerism and hospital service, which was especially evident during the pandemic, as well as in the support provided to internally displaced persons from Ukraine.

RF Senator Elena Zlenko I am sure that communication with representatives of the Church is necessary for politicians and legislators.

“A productive dialogue, communication and understanding of each other contributes to the cohesion of our society, the formation of common cultural and humanistic values,” she explained.

The importance of the ongoing parliamentary meetings dedicated to the primordially Russian tradition – cooperation between the state and the Church, was highly appreciated by the Speaker of the Yamal Parliament Sergey Yamkin.

“The word “co-working” is rarely used in modern life, but it is precisely this word that most accurately reflects the meaning of the interaction between the state and the Church – this is spiritual cooperation for the good of every person. These are the very unshakable foundations on which our Fatherland stands. Building different levels of interaction with religious institutions by state authorities is the norm for civil society. A lot is being done today, but there are also areas in which cooperation can and should be strengthened,” the parliamentarian believes.

According to Sergey Yamkin, social, medical, charitable and patriotic projects have become the result of interaction between the state authorities and religious institutions in Yamal.
