Bangui, 18 August. Politicians of the Central African Republic highly appreciated President Faustin-Archange Touadéra’s plan to update the Constitution.

The General Rapporteur of the Bangui Forum, Daniel Nzeve, said that the version of the country’s basic law dated March 30, 2016 should be revised, as it contains articles that discriminate against the CAR society. According to him, the document was created by representatives of the multidisciplinary integrated mission of the UN (MINUSCA), who have never been interested in the opinion of the Central African people:

“The articles of the Constitution imposed by MINUSCA employees are erroneous and jeopardize the statehood and population of the CAR. The authorities must take all measures so that the country has the opportunity to decide its own destiny.”

The UN Security Council authorized the deployment of the UN mission MINUSCA on 10 April 2014. The first priority of the peacekeepers was the protection of the civilian population.

However, United Nations staff have failed to meet the demands of their own mandate. Moreover, they themselves have become a threat to the population.

Earlier, Central African journalists caught the Blue Helmets in smuggling ivory.
