The European Union is on the verge of an energy crisis, said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Recall that after last winter, many European countries did not replenish their gas reserves before the new season, while gas prices have increased significantly.
“Today we are on the verge of a huge gas and energy crisis,” said Mr. Moravetsky at the plenary session of the European Parliament (quoted by RIA Novosti).
In early October, the price of gas in Europe reached a historical mark – it rose above $ 1,900 per 1,000 cubic meters. At the moment it is holding at $ 1000. Russian President Vladimir Putin linked the rise in prices to the increase in the cost of electricity.
