Police detained a Permian woman who attacked a lawyer with an ax

In Kizel (Perm region), a local resident came to a woman’s home and attacked her with an ax. The attacker was unable to kill her victim, the attacker was detained by the police, according to the telegram channel of the Investigative Committee for the Perm Territory. According to media reports, the victim of the attack was a lawyer.

“According to the investigation, on November 13, 2023, in the city of Kizel, in the daytime, the suspect, while intoxicated, armed with an ax, came to the apartment where a local resident lived. When the victim opened the door to the apartment, the suspect attacked her and inflicted multiple blows with an ax on the victim’s head and body,” the telegram channel says. The victim has already received medical assistance. The investigation continues; a criminal case has been initiated against the attacker under Part 3 of Art. 30 hours 1 tbsp. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder).

As KP-Perm reports, the victim is a local resident who previously worked as a judge, and after leaving office she became a lawyer. According to one version, the suspect, who worked as a security guard at a school and has children, committed the attack because of the woman’s advocacy work.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack took place on the lawyer’s birthday. That day, the suspect knocked on her door and told her that a flower delivery had arrived. The victim believed and opened the door, after which the suspect attacked her with an ax. The victim of the attack actively resisted and called for help; neighbors immediately called the police. Thanks to this, the woman managed to escape.
