Podolyak urged not to consider the counteroffensive as a battle “which will decide everything”

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, believes that the upcoming counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot be considered as one battle, “which will decide everything.” According to him, this is “a matter of more than one month”, and it is about a chain of events that should happen.

“When we talk about a counter-offensive, that it will be a landslide for Russia or, conversely, there will be no advance for Ukraine, it looks like we are in a Hollywood movie, where a big battle for Middle-earth begins and one battle for Gondor will decide everything. It doesn’t happen. Taking into account the intensity and scale of the war, taking into account the resources that Russia is investing here, including mobilized ones, this is a series of measures. It is not a matter of one week, one day or one month. This is a question of many events, because one can be more successful, and the other less successful,” Mr. Podolyak explained (quoted from UNIAN).

In Middle-earth, the events of the books “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien take place. Gondor is a southern kingdom in Middle-earth.

Bild, citing NATO analysts, reported that Kyiv wants to cut off Russia’s land communication with Crimea. From Pentagon documents leaked online in April, it became known that the United States predicts Ukraine’s modest success in the counteroffensive. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov called the world’s expectations of a counteroffensive overestimated.
