Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached America and on reaching there, he was given a warm welcome. PM Modi’s plane landed at Washington airport early today, where he was received by India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu. On the first day of his US visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold meetings with Australian counterpart Scott Morrison, US Vice President Kamala Harris and select heads of corporates that have the potential to make significant investments in India.

PM Modi tweeted after reaching the US and said, “Arrived Washington DC. In the next two days I will meet US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga. During this I will meet Quad. I will attend the meeting and meet the CEOs of top companies and present the economic achievements in India to them.”

In another tweet, he expressed his gratitude to the Indian community living in the US, saying, “Grateful to the Indian community for the warm welcome to Washington DC. Our diaspora is our strength. It is commendable how the Indian diaspora has treated us. He has established himself around the world.”

Prime Minister Modi will meet the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of five big companies Qualcomm, Adobe, First Solar, General Atomics and Blackstone today. Along with this, he will also meet US Vice President Kamala Harris. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday afternoon. A source said that Prime Minister Modi is looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Morrison on several issues.

Ahead of his departure for the US to attend the Quad meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said on Wednesday that his visit would be an opportunity to strengthen strategic partnership with the United States, Japan and Australia, the source said. The meeting is expected to range from several issues of interest to both sides.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday left for America by a special aircraft from Palam Air Force Airport at around 11.15 am.
