Moscow is extremely careful about foreign business remaining in Russia. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. According to him, the Russian authorities also treat Western companies with great respect, which, under pressure, were forced to suspend their activities in Russia, but intend to resume it as soon as possible.

“There are many such businessmen, there are many such companies, and we will treat them this way, we will create favorable conditions for them in the future,” Peskov stressed.

Commenting on the number of foreign delegations expected to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Peskov noted that fewer foreigners from the West would come to the forum than in previous years. However, according to him, this does not mean Russia’s reorientation to the East.

“The world is more multifaceted, there are many other directions. Yes, there are new centers of power in the East: China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and many, many other countries. But there is also Latin America. There are a variety of companies, including those from European countries,” Peskov said.
