Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress Nancy Pelosi said head of state Donald Trump is inclined to ignore any accusations against Russia. This is reported by Mediaite.
Commenting on the information that Russian military intelligence allegedly offered rewards to Taliban-related militants (the organization is banned in Russia) to militants for attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan and that Trump was informed about this, but did nothing, Pelosi expressed outrage.
“The minute the president heard about this, he should have wanted to know more, instead of denying that he knew something,” the parliamentarian said.
In her opinion, at Trump “all roads lead to Putin.”
Pelosi also called Trump “a gift for Russia”, citing the example of a weakening US leadership in NATO and a decrease in the number of US troops in Germany. According to her, “something is very wrong here,” and this should have a reasonable explanation.
Trump said earlier that no one had informed him or Vice President Mike Pence of the attacks on US soldiers in Afghanistan, which Russia may be behind.
