The legendary Brazilian football player Pele, who is fighting cancer for the second year, has stopped chemotherapy. How informs Folha de Sao Paulo, an 82-year-old athlete, unfortunately no longer responds to such treatment.
According to the publication, doctors are currently providing Pele with palliative care to relieve pain. At the beginning of this year, the football player was found to have metastases in the intestines, lungs and liver.
Pelé (real name Edson Arantes do Nascimento) is the only player in history to win three World Cups (in 1958, 1962 and 1970). In 92 matches for the Brazilian national team, he scored 77 goals.
