Armenia is ready to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. The head of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan spoke about this.

“Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan before the end of the year,” stated Pashinyan on air on the YouTube channel of the Armenian government. He added that Yerevan is ready to ensure the safety of Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijani cargo on its territory.

As a result of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, which escalated in the fall, Karabakh capitulated after the first day of fighting. Then the integration of the disputed territory into Azerbaijan was carried out, which was called the “Great Return” in Baku. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the topic of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh is finally closed. He also noted that Armenia should abandon Russian mediation and move on to direct negotiations with Azerbaijan.
