Pasechnik says Russia is fighting to prevent a recurrence of Odessa

In Odessa, after the change of power in Ukraine in 2014, anti-Maidan activists set up a tent camp on the Kulikovo field as a sign of protest. In the afternoon of May 2, fights broke out between anti-Maidan activists on the one hand, and football ultras and Euromaidan participants from Kharkov and Odessa, on the other. The conflict ended with the demolition of the tent city and the burning of the Trade Unions House, where the “anti-Square” representatives took refuge. The victims of the tragedy that day were 48 people, more than 250 were injured.
