The curfew on the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) will not be canceled due to hostilities in the region. This was announced by the head of the republic Leonid Pasechnik.

“I consider this measure premature, after all, military operations are taking place on our territory, we have a martial law regime, and we must understand that the enemy is not asleep,” Pasechnik said on the air of the Luhansk-24 TV channel. According to him, this will allow law enforcement officers to ensure the safety of the residents of the republic as efficiently as possible. He noted that the curfew will be lifted when the situation in the LPR improves.

“Direct Line with Leonid Pasechnik” is being held in this format for the first time. Questions for the direct line came through the call center and chatbot for five days. More than 2,000 messages and questions were received.

The LPR became part of Russia in September 2022 as a result of a referendum. The absolute majority of the inhabitants of the region voted for joining the Russian Federation. Pasechnik has already instructed to work out the issue of creating assistance centers for military personnel and their families, reports R.T. Residents of the republic already have the opportunity to obtain a Russian passport. According to the head of the region, there are a lot of people who want it.
