The United States is putting pressure on Paraguay and other countries on the continent. In this way, Washington seeks to “freeze” the development of relations with Russia, said Sixte Pereira, a presidential candidate and senator from the left Guasu Front party.
Russian Ambassador to Paraguay Alexander Pisarev noted earlier that relations between the countries were “paused”. This happened due to the fact that the United States managed to suppress the state. Thus, the diplomat is sure, Washington has complicated an already difficult situation.
“There is no dynamism in diplomatic, political and economic relations, everything is frozen with Russia. Paraguay succumbed to US pressure in relations with Russia,” Pereira said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the country’s intention to maintain contacts with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Russian Federation is ready to develop relations despite BiH joining the sanctions, he noted.
