Palestine condemns UK plans to move embassy to Jerusalem

Palestine considers UK plans to move the embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem a violation of international law, said the head of the Palestinian government Mohammed Shtaye during a government meeting.

He added that the relocation of the British embassy would entail worsening relations with Palestine and the Arab world. Also, according to Shtaye, these actions of London will close the opportunity for the UK to participate in the peaceful settlement of issues with Palestine.

“The Palestinian Government regards with great concern the statements of British Prime Minister Liz Truss and her promises to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem”added the diplomat.

He stressed that any such action would undermine the existing order and relations between Israel and Palestine.
