Indian security forces uncovered a terrorist hideout in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, recovering five bombs, two radio sets, and other items during a joint operation with police on Sunday.

Authorities demolished the underground base, escalating tensions with Pakistan. Interrogations of detained suspects revealed that attackers, trained by Pakistan’s special forces, executed the April 22 Pahalgam assault, according to NDTV, citing sources.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned adversaries of a robust response, emphasizing border security and ongoing coordination with armed forces. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India remains prepared,” Singh stated.
Pakistan countered, asserting readiness to address any aggression, with its military engaging in political discussions. And reporting crossfire along the Line of Control for the 11th consecutive night in Poonch, Baramulla, and other areas.
In a separate incident, 23-year-old Imtiaz Ahmed, a Kulgam resident accused of aiding Pahalgam attackers with food and shelter, attempted to escape custody. While guiding police to a terrorist hideout, he jumped into the Vishwa River and drowned. A viral video of the incident has sparked widespread attention.

Amid rising tensions, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Monday for high-level talks with Pakistan’s leadership, aiming to ease India-Pakistan friction. Tehran previously expressed interest in mediating the conflict.
India intensified its crackdown on Pakistani social media presence. Blocking accounts of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Users accessing these accounts from India receive a message citing legal suspension.

The Pakistan Peoples Party condemned the move as “vindictive,” alleging fear of Pakistan’s firm stance prompted Modi’s government to act. Since the Pahalgam attack, India has targeted social media accounts of prominent Pakistani figures, including politicians, journalists, and athletes.
