“OVD-Info”: municipal deputy Sergei Tsukasov was detained

The municipal deputy of the Ostankinsky district of Moscow, Sergei Tsukasov, was detained after meeting with voters, the OVD-Info project (recognized as an NGO-foreign agent) reports with reference to the deputy of the same district, Sergei Semenov. According to the sources of the project, Mr. Tsukasov was taken to the police department in the Ostankino district.

The OVD-Info report states that a provocateur came to the meeting with the deputies, where Messrs. Tsukasov and Semyonov were present, and began to threaten municipal officials. Because of the actions of the provocateur, those present called the police, whose officers arrived and detained Mr. Tsukasov.

“Now Tsukasov is charged with an article on the public demonstration of extremist symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). A lawyer from OVD-Info, Nikita Spivak, went to see him,” the OVD-Info LIVE Telegram channel says.

Earlier, Sergei Tsukasov was removed from the upcoming municipal elections. Vitaly Kiselyov, a United Russia candidate nominated in the same constituency, filed a lawsuit against the incumbent. Mr. Tsikalev was recognized as “involved in the activities of an extremist organization” due to old posts on social networks and participation in a rally in support of Alexei Navalny.
