The authorities will continue to work on measures to support the military and their families, said State Duma deputy from the Moscow region Sergei Kolunov. This is how he commented on the adoption of amendments to the law “On the status of military personnel” and other regulatory legal acts.

Kolunov said that the deputies during the plenary session on May 16, in the second and third readings, adopted a bill supporting families of SVO participants.

“For military personnel sent to the zone of special military operation and outside Russia, and members of their families, the right to use service housing will remain. If the housing is rented, the families will be compensated for the rent,” the parliamentarian stressed.

According to him, the amount of payments will not depend on military rank, position or length of service. State Duma deputies and members of the Federation Council will continue to work on measures to support the military and their families.

“Caring for the families of those who are now, at the risk of their own lives, defending the Motherland is our primary duty,” said Kolunov.

Earlier, a draft law was submitted to the State Duma, which implies the admission of participants of the SVO to universities without exams. The initiative was initiated by Deputy Nina Ostanina.
