Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said he supports Sweden and Finland joining NATO. Hungary and Turkey are the last two countries of the alliance that have not yet ratified its expansion.
Mr. Orban said that the issue of ratifying the membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO has already been included in the agenda of the first session of the country’s parliament in 2023. The Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, asked him to “ratify the issue as soon as possible” as soon as possible.
Media reported that Turkey, most likely, will not sign the application for Sweden’s admission to the alliance until the end of the year. The Turkish authorities are unhappy that Finland and Sweden have not yet given them a single person whom Ankara considers involved in terrorism.
