The return of schoolchildren and students to educational institutions, as well as an increase in the number of those who have not been revaccinated, may contribute to the rise in the incidence of COVID-19. He told about it “Nevsky news» Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Gennady Onishchenko.

According to the headquarters, over the past week, the rate of hospitalization with COVID-19 per 100,000 people was 11.3 and increased by 29.8 percent compared to the previous week. Over the past day, 1,581 people were hospitalized with coronavirus, 25,273 new cases of the disease were detected. A day earlier, 28,982 new patients with coronavirus were recorded in Russia – for the first time since March, the increase in cases reached almost 29 thousand.

“Usually, the rise lasts three to four weeks, now there is a second one. By the end of the week, students will begin to arrive in megacities, schoolchildren will return from vacation. This may extend the rise time. The beginning of studies in schools and other educational institutions will also play a role. Now the number of people whose revaccination period has come up is increasing. Someone is on vacation, out of town. We need to solve this problem,” Onishchenko said.

According to him, COVID-19 has recently been asymptomatic or mild. Therefore, people turn to doctors less often – it’s better to go to a specialist right away, “than to get out of the other world later,” the academician emphasized.
