American rapper Isaac Freeman, known by his stage name Fatman Scoop, died after performing in Connecticut on Friday, according to Daily Mail, citing the artist’s tour manager.
“The musician fell to the ground just seconds after urging the audience to ‘get loud,’ ” the report states. Freeman was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The exact cause of death remains unknown.
Isaac Freeman III was a prominent figure in New York’s hip-hop scene in the 1990s. He gained fame through collaborations with megastars, including Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey, in the early 2000s, and was known for his deep, bass-heavy vocals.
Many of the rapper’s works reached high positions on numerous music charts and hit parades.
