Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned as state president a few days back, will meet Congress general secretary KC Venugopal and Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat on Thursday, October 14. It will be decided in this meeting whether his resignation will be accepted or whether he will continue in this post.
The party’s Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat had earlier on Tuesday tweeted that Sidhu would meet them to discuss “organizational matters” of the state Congress.
“Navjot Singh Sidhu, President Punjab Congress will call on me and KC Venugopal on 14th October at Venugopal’s office (in Delhi) to discuss some organizational matters relating to Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee,” his tweet read.

This will be Sidhu’s first official meeting with the central leadership of the Congress after he resigned from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president. Let us tell you that on September 28, Sidhu had announced his resignation from the post of PPCC chief on Twitter.
According to party sources, the high command is not happy with Sidhu’s resignation and no such meeting has taken place with the central leadership after his resignation. Let us tell you that Sidhu’s interference also angered the first Dalit Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi. However, after his resignation, Sidhu had said that he would always stand by party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
He had said, “Post or not, I will stand by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Negative forces try to defeat me, but every ounce of positive energy will win Punjab, Punjabiyat (Universal Brotherhood) will win and Every Punjabi will win.”
