Not only balloons. Canada claims to have found Chinese spy buoys

Last fall, the Canadian military fished out Chinese observation buoys in the Arctic zone of their borders. This was announced today, February 23, TASS reports with reference to The Globe and Mail newspaper.

The publication cites information from the Canadian Ministry of Defense, according to which Chinese dual-use buoys were successfully intercepted. The department did not provide other details.

“We have a complete understanding of these buoys and, as mentioned, we have retrieved these buoys. We also understand that this type of activity is not new.” – the newspaper quotes the words of the head of the Canadian Ministry of Defense Anita Anand.

According to her, Canada will continue to do everything necessary to protect its borders in the Arctic.
