The words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the collapse of the US unipolar world were silently accepted by Western leaders. This opinion was expressed by American analyst Mark Episkopos.
On June 17, the President of Russia spoke at a plenary session during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Episkopos in an article for The National Interest retold by PolitRussia writes that during his speech, Putin announced the end of the era of the unipolar world, and also declared the uselessness of anti-Russian sanctions. In his opinion, Western restrictions against Moscow are insane and thoughtless, as they have done more damage to Europe and the United States than to Russia. According to the author of the article, Putin’s position on sanctions is shared by the Europeans.
“Some Western politicians seem to tacitly agree with Putin’s assessment,” writes Mark Episkopos.
As a reminder, the city on the Neva hosted the 25th anniversary SPIEF from 15 to 18 June. As a result of the forum, it became clear that the Russian economy feels great against the backdrop of external pressure.
