On 2 October, a newborn was found dead at Doha Airport. After this, the Airport Authority took off the clothes of all the women boarding the flight from Doha to Sydney. The airport authorities were investigating whether a woman on board the flight had given birth to a child. There has been an uproar over this incident. In fact, when the newborn child was found dead at the airport, the airport authority suspected that a passenger had given birth to the child. After which, female passengers of flight number QR908 from Doha to Sydney were unloaded from the plane and searched in an ambulance. During this time, the entire clothes of the female passengers were removed and physical examination was done. A passenger told a conversation with The Guardian that female passengers were examined in the presence of a female doctor. During this, the investigation was done by taking off even his underwear.
While expressing displeasure over the incident, the Australian State Department has said that they have lodged their protest with the Qatar administration about it. According to the Australian government, the Qatar administration has assured them that the case will be investigated in a detailed and transparent manner and that information will be made available to Australia soon.
At the same time, Qatar Airways has said in this case that it did not question any female passenger in this regard.
