Arrangement of turnaround areas for public transport continues in the Moscow region. Nine more of them were built in six city districts. This was announced by the deputy chairman of the government of the region Anna Krotova.
According to MTDI, the new settling and turning areas will provide drivers and passengers with comfortable conditions on 20 routes. Anna Krotova noted that there are plans to equip 20 such facilities by the end of the year.
“Nine sites have already been equipped in Leninsky, Balashikha, Shchelkovo, Sergiev Posad, Istra and Chekhov, which have improved the throughput of road network facilities, created the necessary infrastructure for ground transport and increased the comfort and safety of transportation for passengers,” the deputy chairman emphasized.
The sites were equipped at the stops of the residential complex “Prigorod Lesnoye” and “Gosudarev’s House” near the village of Lopatino in the Leninsky district, at the Olgino station and near the residential complex “Alekseevskaya Roshcha” in Balashikha, on Povarov Street and Schelkovo-7 in Shchelkovo, in the village of Boriskovo in Istra, the village of Svyatogor in Chekhov and in the village of Skobyanoy in Sergiev Posad.
Thanks to the platforms, vehicles will be able to turn around without violating traffic rules. It will also allow adding large class buses to the routes. By the end of the year, such facilities will be built in Shchelkovo, Khimki, Balashikha, Krasnogorsk, Solnechnogorsk, Reutov, Podolsk, Losino-Petrovsky and Odintsovo.
Governor Andrey Vorobyov spoke about the road projects of the Moscow region. Some of them plan to hand over ahead of schedule.
