The party “New People” in the by-elections to the legislature of the Chelyabinsk region, which will be held in September, will be represented by Lev Zhivaikin. This decision was made by the regional organization of the party, reported June 30 URA.RU in its press service.

“By a general vote, it was decided to nominate Lev Zhivaikin as a candidate. He will take part in the by-elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region in the Trinity single-mandate constituency No. 25. We always support people who are ready to develop their region, their land, who are not indifferent to the problems of the inhabitants,” the press service of the New People regional department said.

Zhivaikin, 34, is a local entrepreneur, and is now a member of the Troitsk City Assembly. His victory in the elections in 2020 was remembered as a curiosity: the losing rival took revenge on the ungrateful voters and turned off the electricity that he had previously modified. Restarting it was Zhivaikn’s first job as an MP.

The mandate of the ZSO was vacated in 2021, when Vice Speaker Vladimir Pavlov left to work in the State Duma on the lists of United Russia. Candidates from almost all parties represented in the Chelyabinsk region are already known.

United Russia nominated the rector of an agricultural university, Svetlana Cherepukhina, the Liberal Democratic Party made a bet on the head of the youth party organization Andrei Samokhvalov, Sergei Nizamutdinov was nominated from A Just Russia, and Sergei Shichkov represents Yabloko. The Russian Party of Pensioners (RPPS), which managed to get two mandates at once in 2020, will be represented in this campaign by the deputy general director of the FMC clinic, doctor Alexei Frolov. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is represented by a local public utility and city assembly deputy Alexei Kholkin, who also heads the local city committee of the party. The only self-nominated candidate is the lawyer and human rights activist Alexander Lebedev, who was the first to register his candidacy.

Lev Zhivaikin was the last of the representatives of the parties to join the election race
