Russia calls on Ukraine’s patron states to force the country’s government to stop shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Such a statement was made by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya.

According to the diplomat, Western supporters of Kyiv need to force him to immediately and permanently stop the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Russia also demanded that safe conditions be provided for the work of the IAEA mission. Nebenzia announced this during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

“We call on the leadership of the UN and the IAEA to show their leadership and global responsibility and very clearly, without diplomatic formulas, point to the real source of the threat to the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhya NPP – strikes against it by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and declare to the Ukrainian authorities about the inadmissibility of such actions,” the permanent representative of the Russian Federation added.

Earlier, Nebenzya reacted to the criminal actions of the Ukrainian military against the Zaporizhzhya NPP. According to the diplomat, they pose a direct threat to the nuclear safety of the power plant.
